About the Item
"Vorozheya" is an interactive narrative about teen life in web-page form. Visitors find themselves in a coastal encampment, exploring the space around them and the objects and characters that inhabit it. Time here is rubbed away like the scratch-off layer on data SIM cards, passing to digital reality (text written by Evgeniy Kuzmitchev, translated by Elias Seidel).
About the Artist
Vorozheya is an art group of four women artists (Anna Afonina, Valery Ghrai, Nastya Korotkova, Maria Romanova), following ethics of relationships between all participants of artistic production inside a collective. Using the imagery of the corporate language, the maniacal desire for efficiency, the tools and poetics of the creative class, freelancing, Trello, Zoom calls, the artists create their own mythology filled with imaginary corporations, fantastic forms and creatures from other worlds. They blend together realities and virtuality, magic, dreams and technology.
