"If We Were Allowed To Visit" is an anthology of poems by Gemma Mahadeo rendered by Ian MacLarty. As you move through the game's environment, the poems are rearranged into the shapes of the objects they're about, each frame becoming a new generative poem.
About the Artist
Ian MacLarty is a videogame developer from Melbourne with an interest in experimental designs. He's produced many small non-commercial works, but has also self-published several award-winning commercial games such as Boson X, Dissembler and Jumpgrid. He has a background in computer science and often uses self-made tools and generative techniques.
Gemma Mahadeo came to Australia in 1987. They are a writer, occasional musician, and disability advocate. They have been published internationally and locally, and currently are poetry editor of a local queer zine, and reviews editor for the Melbourne Spoken Word website.
