Lena Vlasova
Garden of Flying Stones
About the Item
'Garden of Flying Stones' is a fantasy about the natural world in the absence of man. This space is out of time and able to change its configuration in whimsical fashion, reassembling from the same elements. Here, nature, which sometimes appears static against the backdrop of rapid processes in a big city, becomes more than the silent landscape we are accustomed to, the background of human life. It is not as unambiguous as we usually assume. In this world invented by the artist, matter breaks loose from the earth and forms an abstraction in which we hardly recognise any familiar features.
