Olga Klimovitskaya
About the Artist
Olga Klimovitskaya is a multimedia artist, born in 1981 in Kazakhstan. Lives and works in London. She is a co-founder and resident of the APXIV art group. Participated in the Parallel programme of the 6th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art (APXIV, Moscow, 2018), Copenhagen Art Week 2019 (Copenhagen Contemporary, 2019), ‘Post-Industrial APXINALLE’ (Urals Branch of the A. S. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Yekaterinburg, 2020). Among her group exhibitions are ‘Land of the Museum’ (PERMM Museum of Modern Art, Perm, 2019), the Presence International Festival of Contemporary Photography (Sevkabel Port, St. Petersburg, 2019 and 2020), ‘Communities and Spaces’ (CCA Winzavod, Moscow, 2019), ‘Support Group’ (Cube.Moscow, Moscow, 2020), the 1st Altai Biennale of Contemporary Art (Ust-Koksinsk District, Gorny Altai, 2020), the 7th International Public Art Festival Art Prospect (Gaza Palace of Culture, St. Petersburg, 2020), ‘Assuming Distance: Speculations, Fakes, and Predictions in the Age of the Coronacene’ (Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, 2021). Olga works with traditional media such as installation and sculpture, and with digital media including 3D and augmented reality. Her research also extends to immersive and procedural practices.
